Elite Competition and Year Round Development
Highland SC Elite teams are formed in select age groups as players are identified and developed for advanced programming and elite levels of competition. Highland SC Elite teams are professionally coached and trained, typically training 2-3 times per week year round. Elite teams compete in high level competitive leagues such as the Elite Development Program (EDP), the Regional Academy League (RAL), or the USYS National League (NL). Younger teams in the Elite program may also participate in the top flight of South Jersey Boys or South Jersey Girls soccer leagues. Highland SC Elite teams also typically participate in multiple competitive tournaments per season. In addition to seasonal leagues and tournaments, Highland SC Elite teams typically participate in offseason indoor training, small sided indoor turf leagues and US Futsal leagues.
High Level Coaching and Training
Highland SC Elite teams are coaches and trainers are highly qualified and nationally licensed. Coaches and trainers generally follow a proven developmental curriculum influenced by European, South American, and MLS standards while also adhereing to US Soccer player development initiatives. The majority of Elite coaches are volunteers - meaning that registration costs are fully budgeted to team competition. Teams also generally hire professional trainers to provide supplemental or focused training such as speed/agility, conditioning, and ball mastery, as well as participate in camps and clinics.
Affordable Excellence
Highland SC Elite coaches are highly qualified volunteers and trainers hired by teams are paid for thier services at a market rate. League registration costs, referee fees and tournament/competition costs are transparent and divided evenly amongst the rostered players. That means Highland SC Elite teams provide a much more cost-effective alternative to every other soccer "Academy" or "Premier" program in the South Jersey area, typically one third to one quarter of the cost. Highland SC does not have to pay for league badges, members only leagues, or purchase for-profit franchise lables such as "Surf"or "Rush".
Join a Highland SC Elite Team
There are several ways that a player may be identified and selected to join an Elite team. Players may register for a tryout during the open tryout season in April of each seasonal year. During the rest of the year, players may register for player ID sessions offered throughout the year. Players may also reach out to an Elite team directly and coaches may invite a player to train with the team and evaluate the players fit. This may lead to guest play or direct roster opportunities.
