The HYSC 2014 Thunder went 3-0 to be Walt Park Memorial Summer Kick-off Tournament U8 Bracket Champions.

Deptford, New Jersey - Highland Youth Soccer Club's U8 boys club team, the 2014 Thunder, were invited to participate in the Walt Park Memorial Summer Kickoff in Deptford held from June 3-5, 2022. The Thunder, who just two weeks ago capped an undefeated fall season by winning their final SJSL league game to complete a 9-0-1 year, responded by going 3-0 and taking the championship in their U8 bracket.

The 2014 Thunder continued their remarkable year long journey by scoring 18 goals and conceding just 1 mark through 3 games, accumulating 9 points to take the group bracket over Gateway, Washington Township, and TBAA.

Including tournament play, the 2014 Thunder have now finished their first club team seasonal year, compliling 20 wins and just 1 loss in 22 games over the fall and spring seasons in the south jersey soccer league.

Club teams are formed in April of every calendar year for the upcoming seasonal year during annual open tryouts (the current seasonal year is Fall 2022/Spring 2023).
