The HYSC 2015 Futures participated in the Walt Park Memorial Summer Kick-off Tournament in the premier futures bracket, finishing an undefeated 2-0-1.

Deptford, New Jersey - Highland Youth Soccer Club's newly formed boys club team, the 2015 Futures, participated in its first official tournament as a team since being formed after the annual April tryouts in preparation for the 2022/23 season. Entering the Walt Park Memorial Summer Kickoff in Deptford held from June 3-5, 2022, the 2015 Futures were seeded in the premier bracket of the Futures division.

The Futures team roster was finalized following tryouts in April. Though players from both inside and outisde the organization competed for the opportunity to join the 2015 club team, the final roster this year is made up of 12 players who all participated for multiple years in HYSC's in-house development program from U3-U7. The strength and quality of the program is promising, as the 2015 Futures performed well.

The 2015 Futures put on an impressive display finishing an undefeated 2-0-1 with wins over Monroe Township Youth Soccer 2015 Futures and Deptford Premier 2015 Futures squads while tying Matchfit Academy affiliate North East United 2015 Pulisic (EPYSA). The Futures had the lowest goals against mark of any team in the futures bracket, conceding only 1 goal against in three games while netting 6 of their own.

Saturday's games included a 4-0 win over Monroe Township Youth Soccer and a 2-1 result over Deptford Premier to seed HYSC in the finals of Sunday's play. The final on Sunday was a tightly contested back and forth contest with North East United where neither team could capitalize on several good opportunities resulting in a 0-0 draw.

The tournament served as a preview for the team as the will officially become the 2015 HYSC boys club team on July 1st. They team will particiapte in the South Jersey Soccer League in their first season of competitive play.

Club teams are formed in April of every calendar year for the upcoming seasonal year during annual open tryouts (the current seasonal year is Fall 2022/Spring 2023). For more information about the club (travel) teams and programs, please visit the HYSC website club-program section.
